Leveraging the momentum around economic growth, our vision is for the North End to become an equitable, thriving, and connected residential and commercial corridor.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div><\/blockquote>\n<\/div><div class=\"rich-text\">\n<p>In 2015, Detroit was selected as one of five cities to participate in the national Reimagining the Civic Commons initiative, a partnership of funders, citizens and city government. The goal is to reinvent public spaces such as parks, trails and recreation areas to bring together people from all backgrounds, develop new local leaders who can shape the city, and foster a more active, engaged community.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"rich-text\">\n<p>Knight Detroit\u2019s equitable investment portfolio focuses on:<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"rich-text\">\n<ul><div class=\"rich-text\">\n<li>Catalytic commercial development centered on the fundamental needs of the North End<\/li>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"rich-text\">\n<li>The creation and reimagining of innovative and sustainable public spaces that strengthen neighborhood cohesion<\/li>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"rich-text\">\n<li>Support of the development and implementation of a comprehensive North End framework plan<\/li>\n<\/div><\/ul>\n<\/div><div class=\"rich-text\">\n<p>Knight also invests in the city\u2019s creative sector, as a way to build community, through its arts program.
